Great workout app for people who dont want to pay a gym!
This is my first review of any app Ive ever downloaded. This app is outstanding. It has truly changed my life! Ive been looking for a workout style that lets me work out in my garage, without a gym membership, and without buying a bunch of worthless machines that I may or may not use. I found the app by chance in looking for bodyweight workout plans via Google images. I found a few and noticed the MadBarz logo on the gif images. Then I searched it on the App Store.
The app allows both beginners and experts ease-of-use. Workout plans are customized for your fitness level.
The only equipment I have ever needed are a door-mounted chin up bar and a thick yoga mat. The rest of what you will need can be found in your garage (a bench for declined push-ups and chair dips, a shovel/thick broom handle mounted between a couple shelves for inclined pull-ups, two arm-chairs for regular dips). They also have workouts for those who have no equipment at all.
The workouts are accompanied by a computerized trainer who guides you through the exercises. Its like having a personal trainer. The voice of the girl who barks out the rest time remaining doesnt care if you are tired. She doesnt care if it hurts. She tells you to get busy.
When I bought the advanced version for $14, I think, they gave me tutorials on how to work up to a "human flag," a "muscle-up," and other advanced exercises as well as a bunch of bonus material. They also sell a nutritional guide for purchase ($12, I believe) that was a great purchase. The material is outstanding for the price!
They are also responsive when I have sent messages asking for some minor improvements. The app does not come without a few minor bugs, but the updates that come every few weeks fix them. Overall, a great workout app for those of you who are tired of paying a gym membership whether you go or not.
